From the beginning

Southwest Florida Urban Search & Rescue was formed in June 2001 to provide specialized rescue response to incidents that involve confined space, trench, low/high angle rope, swift water, and structural collapse situations within the southwest region of Florida.

Our continued service

Florida Task Force 6 continues to serve the Southwest region of Florida including Charlotte, DeSoto, Glades, Lee, Hendry, and Collier county.


Over 140 members make up our team & specialize in numerous areas from Technical Search & Rescue, Hazardous Materials handling & response, Flood/Swiftwater Rescue, Planning & Logistical Support, Incident Command, and more.
